  3. S3: Biology, Chemistry, and Pure Maths.
  4. S4: Biology, Chemistry, and Geology.
  5. S5: Chemistry, Computer Science, and Mathematics.

  7. S7: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Mathematics.

GCE Advanced Level Art Subject Combinations (Series)

The Arts series (A-Series) for Advanced level students are enumerated below:

  1. A1: Literature, History, and French.
  2. A2: History, Geography, and Economics.
  3. A3: History, Economics, and Literature.
  4. A4:  Economics, Geography, and Pure Mathematics (Mechanics or Statistics)
  5. A5: Literature, History, and Philosophy.

How Many Subjects can be written at the GCE Ordinary and Advanced Level?



  • The maximum or allowed number of subjects you can offer for the GCE Ordinary Level is eleven (11)
  • The maximum or allowed number of subjects you can offer for the GCE Advanced Level is five (5)
  • Subjects such as Computer Science, Information Communication and Technology (ICT), Religious studies, Commerce, etc., can be included in any series above.
